The Triangle House Review is looking for an Assistant Editor.

We publish 8ish issues a year, which consist of a piece of fiction, an essay, a piece of criticism, an interview, and a poem. As Assistant Editor, you will be doing a little bit of everything: help maintain an editorial calendar, be in touch with authors, solicit and edit work. You will be responsible for preparing the issue for publication- inputting and formatting work digitally. You will participate in meetings with the Review’s staff to help shape each issue and discuss editorial concerns as they relate to individual pieces and the publication writ large. We’d love for the Assistant Editor to grow into writing Letters from the Editor, contributing a piece, helping grow our audience, and more.

We’re looking for someone who wants to gain experience in literary magazines and publishing. Maybe you’re a writer getting your MFA (or not), or you want to start your own magazine someday. This is not intended to be a full time job, rather a supplementary position for someone who either works in the literary industry and wants experience working within a more experimental venue, or works outside of the literary industry and hopes to gain experience working within it. The expected workload for this editor position is 10 hours per issue, at 15 dollars per hour, or approximately 150 dollars per issue.

The qualifications for this position are as such: an understanding of the contemporary literary landscape, excitement for editing prose, proficiency within Google Docs, familiarity with the Triangle House oeuvre, and organizational skills. Proficiency within Squarespace is a plus, or, a willingness to learn the platform.

For the application, please submit…
